Lyrics
Port To Port (The Lonesome Sailor)
Had a feeling the other day, the sun went down on meÂ
Reminiscing on better times, that sunk into the seaÂ
Now I’m a sailor, on borrowed timeÂ
My ship is loaded but I’m feeling fineÂ
Two thousand miles, left to sailÂ
I want to live to tell the taleÂ
From port to port, I’ve seen them allÂ
Some were big, and some were smallÂ
I drop my anchor, and step unto the shoreÂ
I smell the air and I smell some moreÂ
I down my whisky, I fill my bootsÂ
I roam the city for forbidden fruitsÂ
I hit the hay, and drift awayÂ
And I get ready for another dayÂ
The skies are blue, the seas are greenÂ
The ocean’s full of mysteriesÂ
But danger’s never more than a few leagues awayÂ
The sun will rise, and set againÂ
But I may never see my home againÂ
But at least I know I’ll die a happy manÂ
From port to port, I’ve seen them allÂ
Some were big, and some were smallÂ
I drop my anchor, and step unto the shoreÂ
I smell the air and I smell some moreÂ
I down my whisky, I fill my bootsÂ
I roam the city for forbidden fruitsÂ
I hit the hay, and drift awayÂ
And I get ready for another dayÂ
The skies are blue, the seas are greenÂ
The ocean’s full of mysteriesÂ
But danger’s never more than a league or two awayÂ
The sun will rise, and set againÂ
But I may never see my home againÂ
But a Sailor never dies, though my ship may capsizeÂ
And the waves they get too highÂ
Let me swim ’til my demiseÂ
Let me sail ’til I dieÂ
Let me sail ’til I die
